Layering the colors

In order to get the patterns in a certain way, the colors have to be laid in a certain order. I am continuing to learn my color palettes, meaning which colors work well together in my eyes, I am getting closer to creating a method. I am keeping a journal of color mixing, but this last 2 weeks were a bit hot so the paints feel heavy. layering the colors was not like before, it is a different feel. Getting better at choosing which combs or rakes to use, whether the results were good. This week, I am working with blues again.

Definitely applying the alum solution to the paper with a very clean sponge, the strokes are in the same direction. The size has to be consistent, and the mordanting also has to be consistent. Also, dry the paper on a surface that will not bleed into the wet paper, like it did last time.

The strokes must be steady and even. Maybe I should adjust the non-pareil comb a bit. A lot of green does not work for me, but my friend likes the paper.
