We were done with Knossos relatively early and took the 2PM bus back to Hania. It was full of locals and a few tourists. We decided not to stop at Rethymnon, but I took a picture from the bus as we were leaving.
We spent the rest of the day walking around the shops of Old Town. Several artisans still practice their crafts the old fashion way. One store in particular was fascinating, a shop where the animal hides were treated and prepared by hand, and the cost was extremely reasonable. Unfortunately, the drachma is a thing of the past, and the exchange rate of the Euro was not favorable.
