This is our last day here. Crete is a beautiful place in so many ways.
We bundle up it is cool for me, armed with camera and water, we start down towards the promenade in the direction of the Venetian Shipyard. This will give us a view of the entire waterfront including the entrance to Hania Harbor.
One photo we could not take was the PT boat patrolling Hania Harbor at night and manned with NATO forces. They have a huge sign saying "No Photos". As intrepid as I am, I opted for the better part of reason.
The sun rising on the Mediterranean Sea is spectacular (the Mediterranean Sea is a sea of the Atlantic Ocean almost completely enclosed by land: on the north by Europe, on the south by Africa, and on the east by Asia). The colors change from the black of night to various shades of red, pinkish yellow, sweet orange, deep blue, until all settles into daylight. The light remained soft until about 8AM+. Some of the pictures are within minutes of each other as the light changes dramatically and in subtle way all at the same time.
